In 1998 Aaron saw the need and opportunity to start a small, honest, and dependable landscape maintenance company. He named it Preferred Lawn Care, to identify the company as the "preferred" maintenance company. Aaron's honesty, hard work, and dedication to his clients and the industry proved to be a successful formula.
Over the years Preferred Lawn Care grew, and continued to grow into one of the largest landscape maintenance companies in Washington County. In 2007 Aaron's close friend, David Jensen, and Aaron were talking about the services the company was able to provide. Although Preferred Lawn Care was able to provide many types of maintenance services, it was lacking in the ability to properly provide many of the other landscaping and construction type services. David had spent much of his career working within the industry as well, mainly focusing his interests and talents on the construction side of the industry. It was clear to both Aaron and David that their combined skills and knowledge would make for an excellent team.
In late 2007, Aaron and David officially became business partners. Now the company was properly capable of providing all levels of landscape maintenance services as well as all levels of landscape construction. To signify the services the company was now able to provide, the name of the company needed a slight change. The name of the company now became Preferred Landscape Services.
Aaron and his wife Terri are both lifelong residents of Hillsboro. They were high school sweethearts and were married in 1993. They have four children, Jacob, "B", Rosie, and Joe. Much of the families time is happily spent with schoolwork, sports, scouts, piano, church activities, and camping. They also love taking vacations, especially Disney vacations!
David and his family moved to Oregon in 2002. He and his wife Gabrielle have three girls, Aurora, Myah, and Avery. They both attended Utah State University. Dave graduated with a degree in Horticulture with a minor in Landscape Design, and Gabrielle in Secondary Education. David has 10 years experience in the landscape industry with his forte being residential landscaping. He is excited to have joined with Aaron and Preferred Landscape Services. In their extra time, the family enjoys camping, skiing, mountain biking, or any other outdoor activity!
